          2007建議信

          Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a student inthis university who regularly comes to the library to spend my spare time.Generally speaking, the services you offer here are quitegood; however, I have some suggestions for you to adopt. And I would like toextend my greatest appreciation if you are so kind as to take my suggestionsinto consideration.

Tobegin with, will you please prolong the time for reading? In the daytime, mostof the students are having class, so they can't come to the library. Moreover, some of the books on shelves are out ofdate. If you are so kind as to provide us some books such as the latestmagazines, we will be greatly honored.

I really wish tohave a more comfortable library. Thank you for yourtime and consideration.

          Sincerely yours,

          Li Ming

          建議信

          DearEditors,

I havebeen reading your newspaper for many years with a great enthusiasm andinterest. It is my view that limiting/prohibiting theuse of disposable plastic bags is of utmostsignificance.

Tocrack this hard nut, I would like to give/offer/render/propose several useful/practicalrecommendations as follows. First and foremost, it is imperative for us to banthe free use of disposable plastic bags. In addition, weshould develop possible alternative forms to replace them, such as paper orclothing bags. Last but not least, plastic bags should be offeredin a much higher price in department stores or supermarkets.

I hopeyou would find the above proposals conducive and I would like to discuss thismatter to further details. Your prompt attention to my suggestions would behighly appreciated.

          Yourssincerely,

          LiMing

          道歉信

          Dear Bob,

I'mwriting to apologize for having forgotten to return the “the Beatles” CD toyou when I leftCanada.I was in such a hurry that I packed everything in my luggage without checkingcarefully.Had I paid more attention then, I wouldn'thave made such a stupid mistake.

Nowsomething must be done to solve the problem because I understand you cherish theCD enormously. I can either send it to you byexpress mail or alternatively compensate you ata reasonable price. If you do not mind, I maybring it back to you next time I go toCanada.

Pleaselet me know which solution you prefer at your earliest convenience. I reallyhope you will accept my sincere apology.

          Faithfully yours,

          Li Ming

          感謝信:

          Dear Xiaoqiang,

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude. I amreferring to that unfortunate accident the other day, when I was knocked off mybike by a taxi.

If it had not been for your timely assistance ingiving me first aid, I fear that theconsequences might have been much serious. Everyone agrees that it was yourquick-witted response in that emergency that has led to this satisfactory outcome.

Although nowadays people in mounting numbers talkabout the need to be unselfish, we seevery few people practice what they preach. If there were more people like you, this world wouldbe a much nicer place.
